Palensky Wildlife Tunnel

ODOT & Columbia River Estuary Study Taskforce commissioned the installation of a 54" diameter underpass pipe below highway 30 near Burlington, OR. Over 600 LF of concrete battered channelizing walls were built to funnel wildlife into the underpass in order to cross the road and access the Palensky Wildlife Area. Various species including some endangered can now use the underpass and avoid traffic on the busy highway above.
